There are few issues that trigger our parts more than sex. There is no one who has provided a better map to lift us out of that morass and into Self-Led bliss than Patty Rich.

THE SILENT TRAP
There's a particular kind of freeze that happens around sex. Not the freeze of not knowing what to do, but the freeze of a part of you stepping in to protect you from something more vulnerable.
Maybe it shows up when a client brings up their bedroom dynamics, and something in you quietly steers the conversation somewhere safer. Maybe it shows up in your own life, in the space between what you want and what you let yourself reach for.
Either way, it's not a skills gap.
It's a protective part doing exactly what it was built to do. And no amount of technique fixes a problem that isn't really about technique.
Sexuality is often where our protectors work hardest and where our exiles hide deepest, for clients and for professionals. Most clinical training barely addresses sexuality, and this innovative program is the first to invite you to meet your own sexual system with curiosity and compassion.
BLISS integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS) with embodied practices, sexual health perspectives, and a social justice lens. It is grounded in a simple IFS principle: we can only accompany others as far as we've been willing to go ourselves.
Through a combination of experiential practice and brief focused teaching, you'll explore Self-Led Sexuality and the Six S's of Sexual Self Energy™, an original framework you can use both to deepen your own healing and to support clients with greater confidence, steadiness, and compassion.
This is professional development that is also genuinely personal. Participants consistently find that the work they do in their own systems changes how they show up in the therapy room, and beyond it.
Licensed mental health providers, Coaches and practitioners, Sex therapists and educators and Somatic practitioners, with substantial familiarity with the IFS model through IFS Institute trainings, the Online Circle or Continuity Program, or other substantial IFS learning experience
A limited number of spaces are available for folks who are not using IFS professionally but are seasoned using the model personally.
All participants should have experience:
✓ Finding a part, unblending, and relating with it from Self
✓ Speaking for, not from a part
✓ Holding space for activated parts in your own system
WHO IS THIS FOR YOU IF
You've done your own parts work and you're ready to bring that same self-led approach to your relationship with pleasure and desire. No clinical application required.
You love parts work, but freeze when clients bring up bedroom dynamics. You want clear tools to guide intimacy cases with ease.
You often refer clients out when sex arises because of imposter syndrome. You want to stop deflecting and expand your clinical practice.
You want to move beyond dry behavioral homework and help clients heal sexual shame while finding deeper somatic peace in your own life.
All participants should have experience:
✓ Finding a part, unblending, and relating with it from Self
✓ Speaking for, not from a part
✓ Holding space for activated parts in your own system
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
Describe the Six S's of Sexual Self Energy™ and how they support Self-led approaches to sexuality.
Identify protective and exiled parts that commonly arise around sexuality, shame, desire, and intimacy.
Apply IFS techniques to recognize and unblend from their own sexual parts in order to remain Self-led with clients.
Discuss how cultural, relational, and social justice factors shape sexual burdens across diverse populations.
Use at least two experiential interventions from the program in clinical or coaching practice.

YOUR GUIDE
I'm Patricia (Patty) Rich, a Certified IFS Therapist and Approved Consultant, an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Supervisor, and a Certified Clini-Coach™.
I'm passionate about bringing compassion to the parts of us that carry sexual burdens, the parts that have been exiled, oppressed, shamed, or simply neglected. My work clears a pathway toward sexual Self-expression that is consensual, authentic, fulfilling, and expansive.
I began teaching Self-Led Sexuality at national conferences several years ago and have been developing this framework for sexual healing, pleasure, and empowerment ever since.
I've taught for the IFS Institute's Online Continuity Program, presented workshops internationally, and offer therapy, consultation, and coaching.
BLISS welcomes people of all backgrounds and identities, including folks who are single, partnered, polyamorous, LGBTQIA+, kinky, religious or conservative, young adults through elders, BIPOC, immigrants, and more. Every part is welcome here.

Testimonials
This series helped me feel on a visceral level what it means to have radical acceptance of my parts. It uncovered trailheads in my system that will undoubtedly lead me to deeply healing places. Patty's unconditional compassion and incredible capacity for attunement with others makes her the perfect guide for an exploration into the sensitive topic that is human sexuality.
Adam Douba
This was an amazing group. We all were mostly terrified to think or talk about our sexual parts as this course got started. Patty is highly skilled at bringing meditation, music and movement, and small group exercises in blending and unblending our sexual parts together in 2.5 powerful and life changing hours each week. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
Tammy Bloom
Patty, you are one of the best workshop leaders I've met (and I have sat with many!!) Your combination of time management, integrity, humor, sensitivity, and wisdom is superb! Thank you so much for the work you have put into this dedicated offering to the world.
Taylor Rechtschaffen
Patty Rich expertly guides members in her BLISS groups to explore ALL sexual parts that so commonly carry burdens from external and internal sources. Her groups, using the IFS model as a springboard, quickly provide a safe space where members make deep and healing inner connections.
Daniel A. Moss
I have taken Patty’s Six S’s session and I have to say how much more expansive and transformative it was than I expected. And I’m not embarrassed to say my husband appreciated me taking the course lol!!! He explicitly told me so.
Samantha S. Woo
Patty is going where few professionals dare to go and embracing the "Self" in sex. With a focus on consent, joy and Self leadership Patty re-writes the story on sex as taboo, scary, provocative or trauma driven and offers participants an opportunity to get curious about what drives them and in which direction all parts of them really want to go.

Frequently Asked Questions
Maybe! There are a limited number of spots for individuals who have prior experience using IFS, are seeking growth but not therapy, and are interested in some conceptual learning as well as personal exploration. Please apply and we will be in touch.
No. Most sexual struggles are not rare medical conditions. They are internal conflicts led by protective parts, fear, and old shame. You already know how to offer compassionate care. This program simply gives you a safe, clear map so you can welcome intimate themes using the core therapeutic skills you already trust, while also working on your own parts.
Never. Your privacy and boundaries come first. All experiential work focuses on noticing your own internal parts and nervous system responses, not on personal disclosures to the group. You are always in complete control of what you share and what you keep private.
This program is made for busy clinicians. We meet once a week for two hours, with bite-sized reflections between calls.
We move at the exact speed of your system. You are never pushed to go faster than your protective parts want to go. By learning to meet your parts with gentle Self-energy, you will feel supported, safe, and fully in choice at every step.
Homework drills and behavioral tasks rarely touch the real issue. When you help clients listen to the tender parts holding fear and shame, deep healing happens naturally without forced exercises. This approach builds genuine safety from the inside out.
We have applied for CE approval from IFS Institute and AASECT. Approvals are anticipated but not yet confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. This is personal work first. Getting to know your own internal sexual system. Many people go through BLISS purely for themselves. If you're also a clinician, what you learn here becomes the foundation for your clinical work too, but that's not a requirement to join.
